PFO Closure TODAY, due to Stroke in August: My Sister, Christina the HummZebra

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22: 37-38

Today is the day that my sister gets a new heart (Or so she has joked)

My sister is having A PFO Closure this morning. Surgeons do it all the time. Still scary though. There are still risks. My prayer for my family is that we FEEL the spirit of SOUND MIND that GOD has PROMISED US. That we literally FEEL snuggled with the warmth of a fuzzy blanket as the spirit of PEACE and COMFORT flows through out our hearts and bodies during this time. GOD PROMISED US.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

But see...SHE DOESN'T NEED A NEW HEART

My sister is a HummZebra.
(Humming Bird: the stated speed equals 385 body lengths per second, the highest known length-specific velocity attained by any vertebrate.)
Zebra stripe patterns are unique to each individual. These stripes are believed to be camouflage devices that help zebras hide well in the grass.

KEEPING MY SISTER IN BED OR STILL
Would be similar to attempting to cradle a humming bird in your hands in order to twist string around its wings or legs... Just sayin' it's not easy. But for the sake of her children and herself she will follow doctors orders. SAYS BIG SISTER.

SHE COMES BY IT NATURALLY
Our whole family seems to be in the type A category. My 73 year old mother still hosts 11 year old birthday parties all with decorations, cupcakes, sleep overs and projects. And this is after after cleaning the house, tending to her sick daughter (me), walking the dog-on the way delivering muffins to her neighbor, grocery shopping, helping others, etc. My 72 year old dad does the same; upon getting home from work he installs a broken door in the house,  designs a new invention, mows the lawn, then hosts kids at his home-usually taking any opportunity to teach one of them math-or something useful for life....My brother. Yep, him too. Full time physically taxing job, goes home to work in his shop and invent various remote control  airplanes, cars and other stuff I don't understand. He then uses it all to reach out to young people, old people and any and all people at community fields and parks and events. He's the coolest neighbor a kid could have. And have I mentioned that he is a  BMX bike rider and is known around the area? Then So yeah, runs in the family.

BUT MY SISTER, SHE WINS THE PRIZE
After the stroke, although trying, taxing and emotional, not to mention pending loss of function...she continued on. And on. And on. And on. What most don't know is that she suffers from physical pain as well, she has for many years. She also battled a difficult divorce. Kudos to her for taking care of herself and her children. (Nuff said. Don't make me do a blog on that.)
Post stroke she continued to spend time and attention to her kids. They are her world and she's an awesome momma. She's continued on with her new business. Continued on with....meetings, school activities, birthday parties, exercise, etc.

SHE HAS A GOOD HEART AND A ZEST FOR LIFE
Anyone and everyone who comes into contact with her can see it and feel it and reap from it.

zest
noun \ˈzest\ : lively excitement : a feeling of enjoyment and enthusiasm
: a lively quality that increases enjoyment, excitement, or energy

ZEBRA LIKE BEHAVIOR                                                                                                                      Zebras are very social animals and live in large groups. AAAAH, YES. Sometimes herds come together to form temporary groups of up to 30 members. YEP.  Zebras sleep standing up, and only when they are in groups that can warn them of danger. CHECK, DON'T MESS WITH HER CHILDREN.

If they spot a predator, they will bark or whinny loudly to warn the others in the group. Zebra stripe patterns are unique to each individual. YEPPERS, She's unique all right! These stripes are believed to be camouflage devices that help zebras hide well in the grass. Does she outwardly exhibit her grief-NO.

WILL CHRISTINA BE OK?
Of course she will! She's in Gods hands. He always has a better plan than ever we can imagine or attempt to make up ourselves. What will happen...well, we don't know yet.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

WE SHOULD PRAY FOR GOD'S WILL TO BE DONE TODAY

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5 NKJV
MOST LIKELY
Until they administer meds that knock her clean out, she will attempt to give the surgeons advice or at the very least tell a joke. She will roll into that room with a smile on her face. She will roll back out with a story or a bazaar dream she had. Once home Nanie (our mom) will have to tie her with firm rope onto her bed so as to not let her jump up and rearrange flowers. DO IT IF YOU HAVE TO MA! Then upon recovery, her same ole heart will Give all the glory to God with a zest and fire that has tripled. ALL TO HIS GLORY.

YOU GO GIRL
This is the day that the Lord has made: We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24. NKJV

Now go do your thang.
I LOVE YOU.
