When You Walk Through the Fire: Aesthetic Rhythm and the Prickly Pear Series: Artwork Despite Tremors/Painting # 7

This is how it started! Ended up a lot different!

FACE BOOK POST A FEW DAYS AGO

"It's coming on as fast as the tremors. God is so good. Making it happen. This isn't gonna stop me dang it. Any verse suggestions?"

KEEPING ME ACCOUNTABLE

Quite a few people responded with bible verses and supportive suggestions.

I WAS BLESSED!

I felt mixed emotions, however, because I didn't set out to solicit compliments. Part of the deal to myself was that this would NOT be a, "poor me," blog.

I've committed to be real and honest.

So, my friends, keep on keepin' me accountable!

That would be a blessing as well.

THIS IS PERSONAL

I GOT SCARED

I won' go into great detail, but I will admit; I got scared.

I panicked.

For, truly the first time...I got fearful.

This stems once again from the tremors. Still processing. It's part of my journey. I think I am having a control issue. The tremors tend to be there at least 3/4 of the 24 hour day. Sometimes you can see them. Most of the time you can't. But they are there. They are irritating, painful when in the neck, exasperating, embarrassing and exhausting.

The devil got a foothold and

I started going crazy in my mind...

with endless questions and horrible possibilities.

I won't go into detail though, I refuse to give the devil time and space on my blog.

Got this ring as a reminder to myself:

FEAR NOT.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 NKJV

For God has not given us a spirit of fear,

Oh how God brought me great joy in painting this!

In defiance of the flaming wrists, fingers and knuckles...the fatigue, the headache, the tremors and more...

I MADE IT HAPPEN!

IT WAS...

EMPOWERING 

FUN

SATISFYING 

HEALING 

REFRESHING 

SWEET 

REWARDING

AND...

RESTORING

It even rained hard for awhile, such joy!

THE FUN STUFF, AFFIRMATIONS

I chose the African Protea for this painting because it is known for new growth after fire! How fitting for me! You may know by now, I have Africa under my skin. This week seemed to be about the growth and the fire that I am enduring. Wednesday night a couple who sat behind me introduced themselves after church. They noticed my tattoo and said, "We noticed that you have the Protea on your arm!" They went on to tell me about themselves and how they were from South Africa. Be still my heart!
