Macy Emery, MY CHILD. Happy 16th Birthday!

Macy Abigail Emery.
Pickles and Peaches
A child that is mine.
She landed in my life in the most unusual way. I tell her that birthing her was equally as painful as the other children. It hurt like the baggeebies.
And she owes me big time.
She is sweet as honey. This child has always had a loving heart and a kind and respectful attitude. Praise God as, over the years, she has fallen in love with
Him and aims to please Him.
Attitude, YEP! She's got that too. It's that, "I'm a teenager, my life sucks and you are irritating me!....Plus, by the way, I know everything!"
Her daddy and I have personally learned from those first two girls of ours, that Macy is right on track. The good news is that it doesn't last long for her. She snaps back into reality and realizes that, spoiled little girl is not what she chooses to be. Those growing up hormones are tough.
Life with peer pressure makes it even tougher.
A harsh and vile start to life.... well that makes it darn near impossible.
But with God...all things are possible, and praise God again, and again that she knows it.

Macy is adopted.
Not many people know. Friends are actually shocked when they find out, usually after several years of knowing our family. I don't ever bother to mention it. It doesn't matter one infinitesimal nano-second to me how she landed into my life. All I know is that God gifted her daddy and I with this child to raise, and she is ours...she is mine.  Matters not that I didn't truly birth her through my loins. But I birthed her through the battles and situations of making
her fully mine with the fight that burned inside of me.
God set me on fire with the eagerness and urgency  to make her mine no matter the fierce battle.
Protecting her and loving her unconditionally for the rest of my living
life is what I plan to do.
She is mine.
And the blessing is mine.
I have witnessed this child grow from a scared, helpless little 3 year old that knew the, "F-word," to a gorgeous young woman with
courage and beauty
that exudes beyond.
She has a sincere heart to help others despite her own battles.
Despite the tough situations in our home, she still thinks of others first.
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6 NKJV
Makes a momma proud. But the glory goes to God.

I've watched her grow from a little mouse into a brave soul who will stick up for others and help them  out, even if she is judged.

She is only 16 years old, just today and yet she has seen things and experienced things that no mature person should ever experience.
She chooses to stand tall and fight her battles.
She chooses to kick that devil off her shoulder,
the one that taunts her with mistruths.
My prayer for her always is that she knows that the Lord is
her true father and He loves her NO MATTER what.
He forgives her NO MATTER what.
Her daddy and I
might not have conceived her or birthed her physically....
but we CHOSE her.
We wanted to adopt. God knew our hearts. We searched for the right direction. We thought it went one way.
But God knew our delights and He dropped her off at our doorstep,
scraggily, rough and sad.
All we saw was beauty, and we loved her
and wanted her instantly.
God knew.

It is my joy to spend my lifetime taking the
best care I know how,
of
you
Macy Burrito-Kripy-Kreme-Peaches -
Abigail Emery my daughter.
I don't call you adopted because it matters not to me
how you landed in my heart.
You are mine.

Daddy and I poured through the bible and prayed for a middle name for you. God gave us the name Abigail.
Our prayer for you is that you continue to grow
into the beautiful, strong, wise woman like Abigail.
You are already well on your way!!

David said to Abigail, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who has sent you today to meet me. May you be blessed for your good judgment and for keeping me from bloodshed this day . . .”
1 Samuel 25:32-33 NIV
Calvary Chapel Woman's Tea

I continue to pray that you always know that daddy and I
love you UNCONDITIONALLY.
We are proud of you and who you are in the Lord.
We promise to continue to do our best by you,
but we promise to fail in many ways too.
Please forgive us...but know that it is
ALWAYS our intention to love you and do right by you.

Happy, Happy 16th Birthday,
your Momma
