I can't do it.
I'll attempt.
I will fail.
It's utterly impossible.
The description of heaven is exquisitely unexplainable. I dreamed of it throughout the night and had an excitable urge to write about it this morning. But now I find it nothing less than profoundly difficult and just plain impossible to put it to words.
We watched, "90 Minutes in Heaven" last night on our date night. We held hands while I snuggled on my heating pad and neck brace. We snickered and joked throughout the show.
But when the man in the movie described heaven we honestly went silent.
I will take the liberty to speak for both my husband and me and state that we were awestruck: affected with sudden and great wonder. We sat perfectly still. The room stood perfectly motionless and tranquil. The depiction of heaven was so intense. Utterly impossible to even fathom.
I wanted to go. That moment.
Still do.
It was even better and more glorious than previously described. The visuals on TV were glorious, warm, intriguing, stunning and inviting at the very least. As an artist and human being I wanted to jump into the TV and bathe in the world not possible to humanly digest. My excitement hit a new level. One that I knew only God could allow me to enjoy.
And yet, I continue to grasp that the description was still yet, not correct. At the very best intellectual depth that I can possibly attain, I will never hit the mark. That renders me even more excited.
I can't begin to relay the depiction. But my absolute favorite part was that all worries, concerns, sadness, ailments and much more....were masterfully vanished. It was unblemished joy.
See, can't do it. I am nothing, without Him.

ALL GLORY TO GOD.

The Promise
Revelation 21:4 NKJV
And
God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more
death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain,
for the
former things have passed away.”
The Throne Room of Heaven
Revelation 21:4-11 NKJV
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning
before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. The first living creature was
like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living
creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:
“Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”
Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the
twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and
worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast
their crowns before the
throne, saying:
“You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”
The Description of Heaven
Revelation 21:10-27 NKJV
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.
Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
The
city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth.
And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its
length, breadth, and height are equal. Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the
fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth
beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and
the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
The Glory of the New Jerusalem
But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie,
but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
